Soft Tissue Surgery

Our team performs a wide range of soft tissue surgeries to address issues involving your pet’s internal organs, skin, and other soft tissues.

Common soft tissue procedures include:

Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome correction: Improves breathing for short-nosed breeds (like Bulldogs and Pugs) by shortening an elongated soft palate and widening narrow nostrils.

Ear surgery (TECA-BO, polyps, ventral bulla osteotomy): Removes diseased tissue or growths inside the ear canal to relieve chronic pain and infection.

Oral surgery: Includes tumor removal and fistula repair to restore comfort and prevent infection in the mouth.

Thyroid and Parathyroid gland removal: Helps treat hormone-related diseases and tumors affecting these glands.

Anal sacculectomy: Removes infected, impacted, or cancerous anal glands that can cause pain and recurring infections.

Cesarean section (C-section) and Pyometra surgery: Addresses emergency reproductive conditions, including difficult births or severe uterine infections.

Gallbladder and gastrointestinal surgery: Removes gallstones, tumors, or foreign objects that cause digestive blockages.

GDV (gastric dilatation-volvulus) or “bloat” surgery: A life-saving procedure that corrects and prevents twisting of the stomach in large-breed dogs.

Kidney and liver surgery: Includes biopsies, tumor removal, and correction of portosystemic shunts to support organ function.

Urinary tract surgery: Treats bladder stones, obstructions, and urethral issues through procedures such as cystotomy, ureterostomy, urethrotomy, and perineal or scrotal urethrostomy.

Splenectomy: Removal of the spleen due to rupture, tumor, or other disease.

Skin and reconstructive surgery: Involves removing skin tumors, repairing wounds, and performing skin grafts or flaps for better healing.

Wound management and repair: Helps heal deep or complex wounds through surgical cleaning, closure, and reconstruction.

Thoracic surgery (thoracotomy, sternotomy, pericardiectomy): Addresses problems within the chest cavity, such as heart or lung conditions.

Cardiac surgery (PDA correction): Repairs a congenital heart defect known as a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) to improve heart function.

Lung surgery: Removes diseased or damaged portions of the lung caused by tumors, trauma, or torsion.

Rib resection: Removes a portion of a rib to access diseased tissue or tumors in the chest, helping improve comfort and function after injury or disease.
